I see that many people struggle with establishing boundaries, whether it is saying no, asking for what they need, or recognizing when someone else is crossing a line. I do not accept walk-ins. Here’s why: My sessions are 90 minutes to 2 hours long. When I’m with a client I give my full attention to their care and I do not step away from a session to answer the door or phone. Accepting walk-ins would create time pressures and interruptions that reduce the quality of treatment for everyone.
