Scheduling a Massage for Someone Else? Please Read First.

One of the questions I receive from time to time is, "Can I schedule a massage for my spouse, family member, friend, or loved one?"
The answer is yes but there are a few important things you need to know before booking.
Over the past 20 years, I have learned that surprise massage appointments often do not end well. Massage is a very personal experience, and not everyone enjoys being touched or receiving bodywork. For that reason, I do not recommend or accept surprise massage appointments.
Before scheduling someone else, please make sure they:
Know they are being scheduled.
Actually enjoy receiving massage.
Are comfortable with professional therapeutic bodywork.
Are willing to complete all required intake and consent forms before their appointment.
A massage session is a professional healthcare service, not simply a gift or spa experience. Every new client must complete intake paperwork, health history forms, and liability waivers before treatment can begin. This information helps me provide safe, individualized care and ensures that important medical information and contraindications are addressed.
If you are scheduling someone else, please enter their email address and their phone number during online booking but not your own. This allows them to receive appointment confirmations, reminders, intake forms, office policies, and any important updates directly.
No Gift Certificates
I do not offer gift certificates.
If you would like to pay for someone else's massage, you are welcome to prepay for their appointment instead. Appointments scheduled by another person generally require prepayment. You may prepay securely through the online scheduler or contact the office to make payment in advance.
Surprise Appointments Are Not Recommended
If you schedule a massage for someone who:
Has never had a massage,
Does not enjoy massage,
Does not like being touched,
Or is uncomfortable receiving bodywork,
that decision is the responsibility of the person making the appointment.
Because the appointment time has been reserved specifically for that individual, no refunds or exchanges will be provided if they decide they do not want the session or were unaware that the appointment had been made for them.
Please have an open conversation with your loved one before booking. Making sure they genuinely want the experience helps create a comfortable, positive first visit for everyone involved.
A Better Gift
One of the nicest gifts you can give someone is the opportunity to choose a massage when they are ready. Talk with them first, let them decide if massage is right for them, and then schedule a time that works for their schedule.
That simple conversation makes for a much more enjoyable experience and helps ensure their first visit starts on the right foot.
