Myofascial Release
Myofascial release is a gentle, hands-on technique designed to stretch and loosen the fascia — the connective tissue that wraps around muscles, bones, organs, veins, and arteries like a spiderweb. When fascia becomes tight or restrictive due to injury, surgery, or chronic tension, it can limit movement, cause discomfort, and even contribute to chronic pain.
This therapy works by applying sustained pressure to the fascia, helping to release adhesions and restore flexibility. By doing so, it improves circulation, reduces tension, and promotes overall mobility.
Benefits for Chronic Pain:
-
Lower back or neck pain: Loosening tight fascia can relieve pressure on nerves and muscles.
-
Fibromyalgia or widespread muscle pain: Gentle release helps reduce stiffness and improve comfort.
-
Postural issues: Fascia restrictions often contribute to postural imbalances, and release can enhance alignment.
Benefits for Scar Tissue:
-
Post-surgical scars: Myofascial release can soften scar tissue, improving mobility and reducing tightness around the affected area.
-
Injury-related scarring: Helps prevent adhesions from limiting range of motion and function.
By addressing the root cause of tension rather than just masking symptoms, myofascial release offers a restorative approach to chronic pain and scar management, helping clients regain ease of movement and a greater sense of physical freedom.
